Rare Species Conservation Centre

About Rare Species Conservation Centre was created in 2006, It was formerly a small children’s zoo and it was taken over and renovated by a small group of people passionate about preserving the World’s lesser known rare and endangered species of animal which are often overlooked in other more mainstream zoological establishments. The Centre forms part of The Rare Species Conservation Trust which is a registered U.K. charity. Apart from running RSCC as an education and captive breeding facility, it also supports and runs various other In – situ conservation projects in the field, further information about this work can be found in the Conservation section of our website  Animals We have a wonderful array of animals to see at our centre, from Leopards to Tapirs, we care for some really special animals seldom seen at other zoological establishments. Please bear in mind that many of the species we care for are primarily nocturnal and you may need to come to one of our special evening openings, BBQ’S or talks to get a proper look at them. When visiting it may seem like we have quite a few empty cages, but in fact they arent – you just need to wait until late afternoon until the inhabitants begin to stir!
